This company started as Aureole & Vertex S.A some time before 1914. A pocket watch with a case hallmarked Birmingham 1914 has been noted. The early watches had movements sourced from several makers including Thommen. By 1950, the company was called the Vertex Watch Ltd, or sometimes Vertex Watches Ltd.
By 1953 Thommen had started to sell their watches in the UK under the Vertex name. The company had split into two by 1964 with Aureole and Vertex being listed as separate companies.
By 1964, the company was selling Vertex Revue watches as well as John Bull watches. This would seem that the company was, by then, tied in with Thommen.
