Oris Wrist Watches
In 1904, Oris Watch Factory was founded by Paul Cattin and Georges Christian at Holstein, Switzerland. They started watch manufacturing with mechanical movements in classical designs. In 1925, the company built their own electroplating factory. They introduced pointer calendar in their watches in 1938. In 1949, the company started making alarm clocks. They earned much popularity in making alarm clocks, when they introduced an alarm clock which needed to be wound only once in eight days. These timepieces are still being used nowadays.

The company constructed their first automatic movement watch Caliber 601, in 1952, with power reserve display. In 1966, Oris Watches produced their reliable watch, Caliber 645 with automatic movement and 25-jewel lever escapement. In 1968, they produced their most reliable and accurate watch, Caliber 652, which was awarded full chronometer certification. In 1988, they launched their first mechanical alarm wrist watch. Afterwards, the company introduced many more functionalities in their watches, and they became very popular in the whole world. Some of their major productions are briefly listed below.
